Lactoferrin
Lactoferrin is a substance found in milk. Researchers believe it is one of the factors that provide the immediate boost to newborn’s immune system. Studies show that lactoferrin has anti-microbial, anti-viral, and anti-tumor properties. While its anti-viral properties are not a strong as its anti-microbial properties, at least one study shows it can play a very vital role in the survival rate of influenza infection. This is mainly through its significant reduction in serious lung complications such as pneumonia, which is the primany cause of flu related deaths.

Cat’s Claw (Una de Gato)
Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa) is a woody vine that grows in the Amazonian regions of Peru. Many studies have indicate that this herb has properties that boost the immune system. A recent review of scientific data suggests that Cat’s Claw has specific anti-viral properties. Other studies indicate that it also has anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor properties as well. There is much more researches to be done in the future on this herb, but early results are promising.
